In 2003 Kym Ward created Excel Group East, a division of Excel Group, when she moved back to Elizabeth City, North Carolina, where her husband Mark was stationed as a pilot at the USCG Aircraft Repair and Supply Center. She then moved to Galloway, New Jersey with Mark, their son Jacob and their "first child", their dog Angus. Kym continued to grow Excel Group East in New Jersey, as well as work with the friends and clients she developed in North Carolina. Having added to their family with another son, Cove, they are looking to move to New Haven, Connecticut in the summer of 2008. Excel Group East will continue to move up the coast with her.
